Eyelids exist to protect the eye.
They are often the most oily portion of the face.
False lashes will not adhere if the eyelids are not clean and dry.
Before applying lashes, gently clean the outer eyelid with warm water.
Bear in mind to clean the lower brow ridge as well.
Use a saturated washcloth or clean, moist cotton ball.
Allow the eyelid to dry throughly and repeat this process.
If applying lashes with an adhesive strip, follow these procedures.
Turn the the lashes upside down.
Make sure the adhesive strip side is facing you.
The curly lashes should be facing down and outward.
Using tweezers, very gently remove the paper backing that protects the adhesive strip, starting at the upper outside edge.
Remove the paper backing and throw away.
Make sure the lashes are not tangeled.
If they are, use an eyebrow or eyelash brush.
They should still be upside down, but the curly lashes should be facing you.
Gently touch your forefinger to the center of the eyelash adhesive strip and lift.
Pinch the upper outside edge between thumb and forefinger and lift away the anchoring forefinger.
Secure one end of the adhesive strip and apply the eyelash across that portion of the eyelid just above the natural lash line.
Gently readjust as necessary.
